This dog is in a fosterhome in: Lodi, California Chester may come in a small package, but his personality is HUGE! He weighs only 7-1/2 pounds, stands 7" tall and 8-1/2" inches long, but can hang with the best of them. He is a toy miniature Rat Terrier with maybe a bit of doxie in him. He definitely has that terrific Rat Terrier charm! Chester gets along very well with cats and small dogs. But because he is so tiny it would be best for him go to an all-adult home or a home with older children only (no young children). And because Chester is a playful youngster of just 1-1/2 years old, he will need to go to a home that has another dog to play with. When he was found wondering an open field, covered in ticks, he was taken to a local shelter, cleaned up, then rescued by NewRattitude. He loves curling up in your lap and getting all of your attention. He knows how to use a doggie door and seldom has an accident in the house unless he can't get out. He is extremely playful and likes everyone he comes in contact with. He does fine in the car as long as a travel harness is used. and does well on leash. Chester has only one "issue"-- extreme anxiety when crated. When forced into a crate, he will start to drool profusely, and within minutes he is swimming in it. Since he shouldn't have to endure such anguish, traveling to an adoptive home in a crate is not an option, so he needs a new family close enough to Lodi, California, to be able to drive him home with a harness.
