Description
This dog is in a fosterhome in: Lodi, California Abby is a beautiful red and white Rat Terrier. She is 2-1/2 years old, 13" tall, and weighs about 10-1/2 pounds. She had been very sick with kennel cough in the shelter, but has made a complete recovery since being rescued. She is a little shy at first but warms up fast, and is completely acclimated and a delightful addition to her fosterhome. Abby gets along with all her foster siblings and is playful and curious. She does very well with all the cats, too. She loves to chase and play so she will need to go to a home with other small dogs for companionship. She is leery of men and gets very nervous around small children, but she follows her fostermom all over the house and is by nature a one-person dog. Although she would not be good with very young kids, she'd probably learn to enjoy older ones. Abby is house trained and uses a doggie door. She is quite the hunter, chasing birds and catching dragonflys mid-air. She is also a good guard dog, always alerting her foster mom when some stranger is at the door. She sleeps in her dog bed but usually sneaks into her foster mom's bed so she can snuggle. She is a real love, rides well in the car, and is good on leash. All she needs is the right home!
